Led by Center Director Michael J. Orosco, the center’s research interests include child, adolescent, and adult development from diverse backgrounds, MBE neuroscience, education, and educational psychology. The center builds on research that allows placing important educational issues within a culturally responsive scientific framework that compliments the social science foundation of educational research and the impact on diverse human learning and behavior.

Michael J. Orosco is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Kansas. His research focuses on Latino children's math and literacy sociocognitive development at the elementary level. Professor Orosco has received funding from the U.S. Department of Education Institute of Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Special Education & Rehabilitative Services.
